At that time, this series (production began in 2007 and finally aired on Cartoon Network in 2009) was the next generation of the Star Wars saga, a cutting edge 30-minute, 3-D computer-animation series based on the Clone Wars that take place between Episode II and Episode III. The look of the new series is a mix of Asian anime and special 3-D animation styling. Primary production took place at the Lucasfilm Animation facility in Singapore and California, in conjunction we created so much material, from character styles sheets for animators and licensing and even popcorn boxes for the premiere.
The original SWCW Miniseries(2004) directed by Gendy Tartakovsky -Dexter’s Lab & Samurai Jack) Clone Wars was something of a novel experiment for the Star Wars franchise and looking back, a precursor to Disney’s acquisition of the franchise in 2012. It was a huge hit that spanned several games and other series like Star Wars Rebels.
Here in the samples, we have some 3D model sheets, poster & banners artwork, and even a Popcorn Box for the movie premiere. It was really exhausting and challenging, and the guidelines were very strict and the deadlines were tight, but I love every single minute.
