Decomposing and Re-Assembled Fashion

Emanuel Saavedra is more than a fashion designer. He’s an experimental artist that creates through deconstructed patterns, exposed seams, raw edges, and displacement of traditional components and fabric treatments to make it look distressed. His style of deconstructive fashion is meant to challenge the traditional perception of beauty. At the same time, it aims to destabilize fashion with impeccable garment finishing.

Design & Anti-design together to create beauty

Deconstructivist design reveals fashion’s charms – ornament, glamour, spectacle, illusion, fantasy, and exclusion. However, Emanuel is not just not destroying. It is instead a simultaneous “forming and deforming, constructing and destroying, making and undoing clothes.” The design and anti-design are equally essential in his work.
