2.Visualizing Your Path
Through lifeStory™, visualizing your goals helps you create a plan. The game transforms abstract ideas into achievable outcomes, empowering players to take action. This visual process ignites creativity and motivation, unlocking potential and revealing a clear path to success.
The game doesn't give all the answers, but it sparks the creativity needed to find them. While I help others through this game, I also fulfill my goal of inspiring people to overcome challenges and realize their potential. This is the core idea behind lifeStory™.
3.Reflection: The Heart of the Game
Reflection is key to lifeStory™. It encourages players to take a step back from the ‘eye of the storm’ of everyday life to gain a broader perspective. By taking stock of your present and imagining how you want to shape your future, you can better navigate your journey.
Information is power, and that’s especially true when is about you. lifeStory™ offers a unique way to give yourself an honest review. Instead of passively watching your life, you actively play it, turning your journey into a visual experience that leads to clarity and personal growth.
Vision Board Set-Up: Players start by creating a Journey Board, selecting goals from categories like Career, Relationships, Health, Wealth, and Personal Passions. Each goal (e.g., Write a book, Travel to Italy or Cross-Collaboration, is represented by a card with specific milestones and actionable steps. The game includes cards covering various life topics.
Game Journey: As players reach milestones, they update their Vision Boards with 3D figurines, tracking their progress. Choices impact the speed of their journey—players can gain new skills, collaborate, or face unexpected challenges.
Goal Adjustment: Life events can change the game! Players may adjust their goals based on drawn cards (e.g., “Discover a passion for teaching—add ‘Mentor 5 People’ to your board”), reflecting real-life shifts.
lifeStory™ comes with a starter set of cards that allows players to create personalized combinations of goals based on their desired life paths, such as Travel the World, become an Entrepreneur, or Master a Creative Skill. We’re also developing expansion packs to explore a wider range of life experiences, and diverse aspects of life such as Cultural Adaptation, Fitness & Well-Being, Career Reinvention, Adaptability, Community Impact and Lifelong Learning.
With each expansion, lifeStory™ offers even more opportunities for players to explore their personal growth, adapt to life changes, and shape their unique life journeys.
lifeStory™ offers the chance to reconstruct—or “re-story”—your journey, much like in narrative therapy. It encourages players to see their life from different angles, zooming in and out like a bird’s-eye view. By seeing and reflecting on the present, and future decisions, the game fosters self-discovery and growth.
When testing the playability, I witnessed a full range of emotions—from laughter to tears. Some players felt inspired, others expressed gratitude, and many reflected on past regrets. The shared takeaway was a deeper sense of reflection and self-feedback. Unlike digital experiences, lifeStory™ requires time, attention, and physical engagement, offering a meaningful space for introspection.
The concept truly clicked for me while watching a soccer match with Messi playing for Inter Miami. As I watched, I saw the strategy of the game unfolding in real time—the perfect alignment of the players, creating a clear path for Messi to score. It was like watching a masterful choreography—artistic, beautiful, and skillful. Each player knew their role, their position on the field, and the strategy they had practiced on the board in the days leading up to the match.
It hit me: before Messi made that winning move, the team had likely rehearsed it over and over again. They probably played out every possible scenario on a board—analyzing, evaluating, and calculating each move until they had it perfected. This is exactly what lifeStory™ is about—playing out the possible paths, weighing the risks and rewards, and finding the one with the highest chance of success.
